Title
Trocar
Subject
Veterinary instruments and apparatus
Description
Possibly the blunt part of a trocar. It would have screwed into a handle and either would have been unscrewed and a pointed end (canulae) would have been inserted, or would have had a pointed end that fits into it.
Trocars are equipped with a canulae (sharp end) and used to puncture a wall cavity to withdraw fluid, or have a needle inserted, etc. (Lisa Cox, University of Guelph)
